Mini version of M2W

Despite the flexibility of the M2W curriculum it was determined that many jails and detention centers were not using the full version because of the short length of stay for their population.  In response to these concerns, the ADE created a “Mini” version of the curriculum.  This “Mini M2W” consists of 12 lessons.  Students exposed to the Mini M2W get the overview lesson in resiliency and positive self-talk in addition to: lessons 8 and 10 from Chapter 1 which focus on career evaluation; lessons 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 from Chapter 2 which focus on decision making by looking at values, goals, and consequences; lessons 3, 5, and 7 from Chapter 3 which focus on successful academic and employment skills like relationships, stress, and assertiveness; and lessons 1 and 10 from Chapter 4 which address how to find a place to live and staying focused.  Again, the intent of the Mini M2W was to meet the transition needs of students in short term jails and detention centers.
